Bed was very comfortable. Room service staff very helpful and food I ordered was delivered piping hot which was good.
Bedroom window was insecure - I was unhappy that the window could easily have been opened from the outside. I was in a room on the ground floor (even though I had requested first floor on the booking form) and felt very vulnerable as I was a female on my own. Also, didn't like receptionist's attitude the next morning - they gave me a bill and I said room was prepaid which she disputed - immediately dismissing my claim as I had made it through Booked.net. However, when she actually looked at the form that I produced she realised that I was right. Rather than apologising, she just turned her back and went back to typing on her computer and her colleague amended my bill. However, overall a satisfactory stay for the price I paid
Staff were polite and friendly. Computer system failed but they rang me with my food bill total and then E-mailed me a receipt the same day.
Decor is a bit dated.
conveniently located near the A14 for a visit to my family. Good tv in the room. Communal areas were of a good standard.
The room rate was reasonable, however the bed was extremely uncomfortable- bad fitting bed linen, flat pillows, hard mattress. The bathroom was dirty- hair on the wall and in the bath.
I liked the quiet location of the hotel (being off the main road) and the absence of any noisy lifts! I also liked the decor and equipping of the room (slightly better than Premier Travel Inn). No. 204 is quiet anyway due to its location within the hotel, so I was able to sleep well. This was a huge bonus, as I normally don't sleep well in hotels due to noise! Everything worked and was very clean and tidy; although I did not use the shower and so cannot rate it. The Flatscreen TV was good, as was the bed. Staff were generally friendly, plus happy to chat if you wanted to. The Ramada was a very pleasant experience for a weary traveller, and generally good value for money
I had to wait in reception for about five minutes until the barman noticed and called the receptionist. Maybe there was a buzzer which I missed? Just one small bread roll accompanied my soup. The very small salad that accompanied my evening meal was a bit limp (maybe due to a little too much oil). My tagliatelle was slightly soggy, and the mushrooms a bit rubbery! The food was quite expensive for its average quality and less-than average quantity. Many of the desserts on the menu were no longer available. Partly as a consequence, I chose the continental breakfast! In all fairness, I must add that I chose to dine at 8.30 pm.
Rooms are tiny, but have just been redone and are clean.
Bathroom also tiny with aged fixtures. On our arrival the room was clean. The second day the beds were made, but neither the bathroom was cleaned nor was the room vacumed.
Very convenient location
I don't like a bed pushed against a wall, I thouigh the price of the breakfast was exepnsive so did not purchase
Room was filthy, in desperate need of refurbishment
Beds were extremely comfortable and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Location is perfect and very close to local shops and tourist attractions. Over all it was a very pleasent stay.
The only things a didnt like about the hotel is that it was quite dated and breakfast was not included in the price. Also we walked in as a couple but we were given a twin room for some reason? Apart from that the hotel is great for a short stay.
Nearness to Bury Sy Edmonds
Some signs of needing refurbishment. Hotel sign not visble on approach road.
The Ramada was a convenient spot for me. The rooms were cool, which is important in the summer. Although close to the a14 I didn't notice the raod noise so I had a good nights sleep. The food and service in the restaurant was very good. The car park appeared safe, I didn't feel I needed to worry if my car would be tampered with. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to others to use.
Maybe the rooms are ready for updating but I'd rather pay a little less. After all as long as the rooms are clean and comfortable that is all that matters.
Convenient for Ickworth Hall
A good deal of traffic noise from nearby main road.
the smile of the reception.
it didnt tell how to use the shower equipment.
We liked the friendly Welcome at Breakfast from Mary and her team Really made to feel comfortable and welcome. All staff were efficient and interested in the well being of visitors.
welcome of the staff and the comfort of the bedroom......
Excellent access to a14 therefore really easy to find. Staff put us onto really economical accommodating taxi company and the fact that they let us check in well ahead of the advertized time made the whole thing so much easier (gave us extra time to have lunch and get changed for wedding ahead of taxi arrival). Lunch was really good and represented good value for money with quick efficient service. Usually stay at Premier Inn chain and this compared favourably. Fellow family members stayed at Country Club ?? but were not happy with their rooms.
Rooms could be considered a little tired but only if you were being really picky.
